The Reformation was a time when men went blind, staggering drunk because they had discovered, in the dusty basement of late medievalism, a whole cellarful of fifteen-hundred-year-old, two-hundred proof grace - of bottle after bottle of pure distillate of Scripture, one sip of which would convince anyone that God saves us single-handedly. The word of the gospel - after all those centuries of trying to lift yourself into heaven by worrying about the perfection of your bootstraps - suddenly turned out to be a flat announcement that the saved were home before they started...Grace has to be drunk straight: no water, no ice, & certainly no ginger ale; neither goodness, nor badness, nor the flowers that bloom in the spring of super spirituality could be allowed to enter into the case.

        dangit.
i want to upload & fiddle with my pics but no card reader....

this trip has been good for me - a swift kick in the ass needed to jumpstart decision-making & transform prayer-based thought into action.

i realized today that i miss rainbow the most; it's the prettiest area of southern ca. we just don't have boulders & olive trees like this in va...not as much of a mediterranean element.

something i've been thinking about lately:
'Genuine worship has much to do with gratitude. When God describes the deepest problems of the human condition, he certainly says we have all sinned (Rom. 3:23). He also points out that we have forgotten to give thanks (Rom. 1:21).'

so. no new ca pics. or north carolina pics for that matter. which is actually fine...i haven't been as motivated photographically lately (it all goes into the cooking) so i'm certain there's a lack of artistic perspective.
    these shall have to do.

mars volta...love them. top on my playlist at the mo (pic not mine, obviously).

also some phillip glass, the knife, crystal castles, rammstein, cat power, shiny toy guns, dandy warhols, billy idol, & dark captain light captain crept up & stolen my ears. how about you?

    sky is wonderful.
